Weeki Wachee Springs has been a popular underwater film locale for a great many years. The natural beauty of the spring and its consistent clarity has made the main spring basin a prime shooting location.
Our 400-seat underwater theater provides film crews with a firsthand look at dailies for any underwater filming. Underwater speakers, already in place for the mermaid shows, provide communication from the producer/director inside the theater to the crew underwater. This provides more efficiency and time management during filming.
