Weeki Wachee FAQs

Can I purchase tickets in advance or online?

No. Tickets can only be purchased at the park upon arrival.

Do you offer refunds for bad weather?

No. Weeki Wachee Springs State Park offers outdoor activities. Inclement weather can affect these activities with delays or closures. Please check the weather before visiting the park as you would if scheduling any outdoor activity.

Can I purchase a ticket just for the mermaid show?

No. The mermaid show is part of the park itself. It is included in the regular admission to the park.

Do you offer group or senior discounts?

No. Weeki Wachee Springs Does not offer group or senior discounts.

Can I reserve seats for the mermaid show or river boat ride?

No. All seating for the mermaid show and river boat ride are on a first-come basis.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not permitted inside the park. However, service animals as defined by the ADA are permitted. Emotional support animals are not recognized by the ADA as service animals. Thus, they are not permitted.

Do you offer cabin rentals?

Weeki Wachee Springs State Park does NOT offer cabin rentals, nor any overnight camping.

Does the park get full?

PSA: During the busy summer months, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park is a very popular destination. Like all venues, there is a limit as to the number of visitors the park can safely carry. Although it is impossible to predict visitation on any given day, we recommend arriving before the park opens at 9 AM on the weekdays, and sooner on the weekends.

As a reminder, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park does not offer online ticket sales, or reservations for space inside the park. Admission is on a first-come basis. We encourage you to plan your day to arrive early during these busy times or plan a visit during the off-season if you can. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to seeing you at the park.

What items can or cannot be brought in?

Coolers are permitted. Bags and coolers are checked at the gate. Alcohol, glassware, and disposable
items are not permitted. Guests can bring their own chairs, tents, and umbrellas.

How do I know if the park is at capacity?

Recommend getting to park early to not have this happen.

Where is the lost and found?

Can be found at Lifeguard/First Aid station, Guest Relations at the front of the park, or the front desk at
the kayaks.

Is there a minimum age?

Children under 12 MUST be with an adult and in the same vessel in their own seat. Infants MUST wear a personal flotation device, either brought personally or provided by Weeki.

Is there food inside the park?

There is a multitude of dining options located inside the park: The Mermaid Galley is open all year with indoor and outdoor seating has a selection of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, ice cream, and other
snacks. Captain’s Quarters is open during summer months with outside seating to enjoy ice cream, snacks, and drinks. Pirates Grubb is open during summer months with outside seating by the beach serving snacks, burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and more. The Snack Shack is open during summer months for ice cream and cold drinks. The Tiki Bar is open during the summer months for frozen drinks, beer, wine, and grilled food items.

Where can we swim?

There are designated swimming areas in the park available for guests.

When is the mermaid show?

The mermaid show takes place daily. Weather permitting. Shows are approximately 35 minutes long.

Do you have 3-seater kayaks?

There are only one- or two-seater kayaks.

What is the cost for launching private vessels?

1 passenger vessel = $8
2 passenger vessels = $16
3 passenger vessels = $24
4 passenger vessels = $32

Can I paddle upriver into the park?

Guests can paddle upriver but cannot enter the park from the river. There are buoys to show the
stopping point.

Buccaneer Bay FAQs

Can I grill or do you have grills?

No. Cooking or grilling is not permitted inside the park. However, you are welcome to bring premade food.

Can I bring alcohol?

No. Guests cannot bring alcohol inside the park. There is a concessionaire inside the park who does sell beer. You are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages.

Is Buccaneer Bay open year-round?

No. Buccaneer Bay is seasonal. However, the swimming area is open year-round with the exception of the month of February. You can find the waterpark activities schedule at Buccaneer Bay

Do you offer group discounts?

No. Group discounts are not offered at the park.

What happens when there is bad weather?

Once inclement weather is approaching, the park will cease operations of the waterslides, and require everyone to exit the water. This is for the safety of the guests and employees. Once the inclement weather has passed, activities will resume. Please note, the park does not offer refunds due to weather.

Can I bring a chair/umbrella?

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own beach chair and umbrella. However, please see a lifeguard before setting up your umbrella, so that it does not impede the vision of the lifeguards and beach.

Can I bring my own flotation device?

Only flotation devices for children to assist in swimming is permitted. Other tubes or flotation devices are not permitted.

Do you reserve area/tables?

No. All areas, including picnic tables are on a first-come basis.

Can I bring a cooler?

Yes. You are welcome to bring in a cooler. They will be checked at the gate. Please do not bring alcohol or glassware as they are not permitted.
